As is common at the more swanky private schools (and the ones such as St Francis's which are attempting to look swanky) the school had a brightly coloured crest that was engraved, embroidered, painted, printed or otherwise daubed onto everything Administration could get their hands on. As is also usual, each element in the crest was said to represent some feature of the school or virtue exemplified (theoretically) by its students.
We students had our own interpretation...
We considered these much more representative of the student body than the pious sentiments of the official interpretation.
